Hi! I'm Jelai Balmes—a writer, traveler, and motorcycle enthusiast originally from Sorsogon, Bicol, now based in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Welcome to Throttle Trails with Jelai Balmes, my little corner of the internet where I document the roads I've traveled, the people I've met, and the lessons I've learned along the way.

For me, riding has never been just about getting from one place to another. Every ride is a chance to discover something new—whether it's a hidden coastal road, a small local eatery worth stopping for, or a quiet moment that reminds me why I fell in love with motorcycles in the first place.

Most of my adventures are on my Suzuki GSX-R150, a bike that has taken me through countless kilometers, unforgettable landscapes, unexpected challenges, and memories I'll always carry with me.

This blog isn't about perfect rides or picture-perfect destinations. It's about the real journey—the early morning departures, the long hours on the road, the wrong turns, the people who lend a helping hand, and the stories that make every ride meaningful.

Beyond motorcycles, you'll also find reflections about life, travel, personal growth, and the adventures that happen both on and off the road. Because, just like riding, life is rarely a straight path. It has twists, detours, and unexpected destinations—and often, those become the best stories to tell.

Whether you're a fellow rider, an aspiring traveler, or someone who simply enjoys reading about life's adventures, I'm grateful you're here.

So, gear up and join me as we explore the Philippines—one throttle, one trail, and one story at a time.

See you on the road,

Jelai Balmes 🌻

Every journey has a story. Thank you for being part of mine.

Every journey is better when shared. If you'd like to follow more of my adventures, connect with me on my social media channels below. I'd love to have you along for the ride.
